36 hours in Paris
Hey Everyone. Today we are going to share with you what we have explored in first 36 hours of our holiday. The first stop was in Paris for 2 days/1 night than we were heading to Portugal. We arrived after 8 in the morning and had our next flight at 8 in the evening on the next day. When we plan our trips we always try to stop in different cities. The second reason for visiting Paris was 1 year anniversary of our engagement.
We have been already in Paris few times and that helped so much to plan everything wisely. In this post, we would like to show you some different places which are worth visiting in Paris.
Le Narcisse Blanc
Firstly the hotel. This trip was exactly one year after we got engaged. It is more than the reason for staying in amazing place.
Le Narcisse Blanc (booking.com) is very high standard 5-star hotel located 5 minutes walk away from the Eiffel Tower. The stylish and luxurious environment definitely impacts on the positive experience of your stay in Paris. All day of sightseeing is very tiring and by the end of the day, you deserve a good rest. You can even relax in the spa which is in the basement of the hotel. There wasn’t anything more we could have wished for. We always engage with personnel to get useful tips and a brief introduction to the places we have planned to visit, and they were super helpful.
We loved spending our time in Narcisse Blanc and we would definitely like to come back there in the future. It is just a perfect spot to start and end your day in busy Paris!
Eiffel Tower
The most famous place in Paris. If you have never seen in live I guarantee you will be impressed by the scale of it. It is much bigger than on postcards ;). If you wish to take nice photographs of it, early morning is the best time to avoid crowds.
Crazy Horse Cabaret
Crazy Horse Paris is a cabaret known for its stage shows performed by female dancers dressed mainly in lights and projections, what gives wonderful effects. There are about 20 short shows with different themes directed by different people. All performances are very artistic and glamour. Lights are playing a big role, what adds a modern touch to traditional Parisian cabaret. We loved the play and think that it is a great attraction for couples to enjoy their night in Paris.
La Louvre Museum
Second most visited place in Paris. It is the World’s largest museum rich with history and culture. You enter to the museum through 21m high glazed pyramid which became one of the landmarks of Paris.
We haven’t visited Louvre museum this time as we only had 36 hours. But, we have done in the past and it was worth it. You will get surprised how many pieces of art you recognise from your high school history lessons.
Notre Dame Cathedral
Well known to everyone at least from the Disney movie ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’. It is a beautiful building from 12 century. You can actually visit 2 towers, but prepare yourself for climbing many many stairs.
Galeries Lafayette
It is luxurious store chain which is worth visiting. Very famous from the beautiful dome roof, which covers underneath all expensive brands. You can also go to the roof top and enjoy the drink with a great view.
Petit Palais
Petit Palais was located between our hotel and La Louvre. From that reason, we decided to visit the place. The building is impressive and hosts the Fine art museum inside. It is beautiful like most Parisian places, but I wouldn’t say it is a must-see place if it is your first time in Paris, especially if you haven’t seen the Louvre museum yet.
Basilica du Sacre-Coeur
This Basilica is located in the North of Paris on the large hill – Montmartre, further away from the Eiffel tower and La Louvre. It has a stunning overview of the capital city. If you plan to go there it is very close to famous Pigalle area, which you can visit as well. It is well known to tourists who want to experience “Paris by night” and see the mill of Moulin Rouge.
Pigalle Basketball court
It is iconic basketball court which is popular from its colors. It was recently renovated in collaboration with Nike. This place blends together art, fashion and street culture. It is a cool looking place, which recently has been a stage for sports advertisements.
Paris is a huge city full of important places, not only museum and cathedrals but also cabarets, stunning shopping galleries or even basketball courts. Two days is definitely not enough to truly enjoy the city, but if you plan your stay properly then you can get a flavor of the Paris!
What is your best recommendation for people visiting Paris?
