This post is our photo-reportage of our last visit to Bath in England. We think that it is one of the most beautiful cities here in the UK with the architecture influenced by Roman Empire. Beautiful place with interesting history and definitely work visiting.
This time we have only spent one day there. It was sunny but freezing cold at the same time. Despite the weather, we love this city and want to share our day trip with you!
Roman baths are the only natural hot springs in the United Kingdom. They were constructed around 70 AD as a grand bathing and socializing complex. It is now one of the best preserved Roman remains in the world.
As a tip, we would suggest visiting this place early in the morning, as it gets very crowdy in a day.
The city became a World Heritage Site in 1987 and the only one in the UK to achieve this status. Largely because of its architectural history and the way in which the city landscape draws together public and private buildings and spaces. IT is a home to some of the nation’s grandest Georgian architecture.
Victoria Art Gallery & Fashion Museum
When buying tickets for Roman baths, you’ve got a choice to pay extra for access to 2 more museums in the city. We have chosen this option as the weather outside was quite harsh and being indoor was much more pleasant 🙂
VAC is the little gallery full of paintings, sculptures and everyday products from the past.
Fashion Museum leads you through clothing from early 18th century till modern days. A wide variety of authentic dresses, suits etc from the past. The last part of the museum is a little changing area where you can move to the past by trying old-styled outfits.
